Gingerbread George

Exactly who is or was Gingerbread George? The Dunedin Railway Station in Dunedin, Otago is an ornate building and the elaborate design was the work of architect George Troup. His peers considered the end result looked like a gingerbread house and they coined the nickname of “Gingerbread George” in friendly jest.
